99% of the time, lunch is a picnic outside. Sometimes I like to switch up the picnic setting and try out the muffin tin lunch. The girls always think it is fun. Some days, this is the extent of fun I am as a mom.
Sometimes when I refer to Allie is a baby, my dad reminds me that she isn't really a baby anymore. But I figure that as long as she fits in the baby doll stroller, I can still call her a baby.
That is not a tongue on the top of Mrs. Potable Head's head. It is a crown. And she looks beautiful. If you don't believe me, ask Laney. She told me so herself.
This is Laney pouting. Erich had just gotten mad at her for something. And she brought on the tears. I couldn't help but take a picture. Isn't that what good moms do?
I really took this picture to send to my sister to show her that we found a lovely E&Y (her former employer) outfit in the closet and that I was training Allie to be a CPA. But I can't get over how cute that picture is. So she gets to be my picture of the day.
Erich is sitting about a foot in front of the girls. The girls get on the table and yell "daddy, daddy." He turns around and tells them to get off of the table and they do. 10 seconds later the entire process is repeated.
A little fact about my sweet Laney. At about 3 months, she gave up the pacifier very willingly. I was great with it. We noticed shortly after that she was making the sucking motion but was sucking on her tongue/the air. She still does it. And that is why she is always making this face. Because that is what she does to soother herself still to this day. Well, that and hold her blankies.
And on a side note, when Laney and I shared a room together in Vegas, I woke up to her in the middle of the night. And it sounded as if she were sucking on a pacifier.
Laney has been asking for bubbles for a week or two. I finally remembered to buy some more bubbles at Target today. As soon as I arrived home from work, the girls (meaning Laney) insisted that we go outside and have bubble time.
Laney loves to be outside. She would probably live out there if I let her. Sometimes she is running around and playing. And sometimes she just likes to sit out there. She prefers her meals out there as well. So here she is just enjoying thegreat outdoors.
And I love that her shirt and pants are both on backwards. A sign of her ever-growing independence.
Today was a perfect day for some Tropical Sno. Allie would probably think it was a little more perfect if she could figure out how to eat it without spilling it all on the grass.
The girls were in the backyard playing while I was inside with the door opened. I went outside when I heard them laughing. This is what I saw and laney told me, "We being silly mommy."
This is an attempt to capture the everyday life of our family. To document the little things that make us, us. To remember the best, the worst, the big, and the little of 2009.
