Everyone once in a while when I pull the camera out, Laney actually smiles. It might look funny like this but I have to have some proof that she is a happy child.
The girls love the pool. They play in it at least twice a day. Sometimes they can't wait for me to get their swimsuits out and just enter with clothes on.
My mom had RS Leadership meeting at the house tonight. Laney and I hung out in my room. During that time she decided she would much rather wear my shirt then her pajamas. And she insisted on sleeping that way.
The girls received this play pool for Easter. Since we wouldn't put water in it for them today, Erich thought they could try it out with shredded paper. They liked it.
My goal for Passover break was to make a quilt. I was smart enough to convince my mom that this scrap stash quilt I saw online would be fun to make. This is the beginning of our project. More pictures to come.
I am not sure the day could have been any better. I was able to listen to both sessions of General Conference. We had scones, eggs, hash browns, and bacon for breakfast. And these were our afternoon snack.
It's been a bad few days for me and the camera while the girls are awake.
I love this book. Mainly because Laney and I both have it memorized. So Laney can "read" it to Allie and I. This is independence and development I like to see
Anyone who knows my immediate family(my parents and siblings) would laugh to know that for mutual the YM came to our house to build something. My oldest brother Casey told me it needed to be documented in photos.
When I left for work, she was in shorts and a t-shirt. When I came home, she was dressed like this. I am not sure what happens in those few hours I am gone.
I am not sure when Laney picked up on the fact that I am a teacher but as we were reading this book and got to the teacher part, she said, "That's you mommy. You a teacher."
My friend Megan made Laney this quiet book when she was a baby. I pulled it out again for her recently. It can entertain for a good half hour. Much better for her than a tv show. Thanks again, Meg.
This was pretty much the story of my day. And I am not referring to my pajamas as I did put on clothes and go to work or my stomach as that is the story of my life. More the one year old clinging to my legs.
I am not going to lie. I forgot to take a picture today. But I spent a good portion of my day at Women's Conference where Barbara Barrington Jones taught us a new song, "It doesn't matter. It really doesn't matter."
So I am okay with it. Because in the eternal perspective, it doesn't matter. (Even though it might matter in the 365 day perspective.)
Erich and I spent sometime going through some of our boxes in the garage. Laney wanted to join us. To help her see better, Erich put the booster seat in the driver's seat. She thought it was fun for a minute. Until she realized it was much harder to climb in and out of the car.
A lot of these were made in preparation for Stake Women's conference on Saturday. I did a lot of licking of bowls. Not good for my getting in shape plan.
This is an attempt to capture the everyday life of our family. To document the little things that make us, us. To remember the best, the worst, the big, and the little of 2009.
I am Mandy. I am married to Erich. We have 3 kids- Laney, Allie, and Nixon. Erich likes to give them weird nickanmaes like Baby Pooper, Bebe, and Unit. I am a school teacher who prefers playing mom to grading papers. Life is good. We are happy.
